Jocko Younger

Jocko joined Cornerstone Health Counseling as a student intern in 2022. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University, Irvine, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, and education from Wayland Baptist University.

Jocko retired from the United States Air Force after serving in the mental health, addictions counseling, and law enforcement fields for 2o years. He is married with three adult children and has a beautiful granddaughter.

Through his own life experiences and extensive group work, he has an in-depth understanding of post-traumatic stress-related disorders, depression, addiction, and adverse childhood experiences. Jocko works with adolescents, adults, and couples. His areas of interest are personal growth, relationship/marital issues, parenting, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress. Jocko uses an eclectic approach to therapy and has training and experience in couples therapy through Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). He tailors treatment and goals to the individual needs of each person.

He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC), and has been certified as a Chemical Dependency Clinical Supervisor (CDCS) in the state of Alaska since 1993.
